On 20 November 1959, the United Nations adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. World children's day is celebrated on 20 November to commemorate the Declaration of the Rights of the Child by the UN General Assembly on 20 November 1959,World children's day was first established in 1954 as Universal children's day and is celebrated on 20 November each year to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and  improving children's welfare.Children's Day is celebrated each year on the birth anniversary of India's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru, which is on November 14. Children's Day is celebrated as a tribute to Nehru. Nehru, fondly called 'Chacha Nehru' was born on November 14, 1889. He was known for his affection for kids.The occasion is celebrated every year in honour of children in more than 100 countries.
